Chief Executive Officer of Golden Eye Studio, Kwasi Oduro Junior has called on fellow music video directors to boycott the annual 4Syte Music Video Awards because undeserving directors and artiste continue to be rewarded.

In an interview with Abrantepa on Radio Universe, Oduro intimated: “I was expecting ‘Baby Take Good Care’ to win an award. The storyline and production quality is on point, how can you organize a video award and overlook this work done by Stanley? As for my piece with Ohemaa Mercy, the least I say, the better.

Everything about the video was properly planned …and you compare Cwesi Oteng’s video to such a video? If you do that, it shows you don’t know what you are doing as an award organizer” he added.

He further remarked, “It’s about time stakeholders took the whole event to the academy level to ensure that good works rather than mediocrity are rewarded. It should not be just two people sitting at their offices and making decisions on behalf of all. If you do that, then it appears you are wasting everybody’s time”.

Mr. Oduro also took issue with regular tickets given to video directors instead of VIP tickets explaining it smacked of disrespect. He noted that video directors must be treated well since it is their works organizers of the 4Syte Music Video Awards use for the event.

Cwesi Oteng’s “Count Your Blessing” beat Ohemaa Mercy’s “Wofiri Mu” to win the Gospel Music Video category at this year’s MTN 4syte Music Video Awards.
