The much talked about Vodafone 020 Live Concert pre-show at KNUST Engineering Auditorium over the weekend was an event music lovers in Kumasi and its surroundings should have been there to witness. All artistes billed to perform at the show delivered as expected from them. We give thumbs up to the organizers of the show
The show which started as late as 9pm with lots of students tripping in was started with Azonto competition with lots of give-aways from the organizers. T-Flow, a contest in the ongoing GH One’s Next Big Thing In Ghana started the whole show with free styles and some hit tracks from his album. The KNUST student was able to pull the crowd to cheer him up since he was at his home. Black N Peach and RnM came to do same as fans cheered them up.
Around 10pm Atumpan came to teach us ‘the thing’ by performing over six tracks. Atumpan who came with his dancer was able to prove to us that he is not just a teacher who teaches the thing but his waist also works as he used his ‘atupa gyen’ to turn the whole podium upside-down. Fans that came to fill the hall proved that they are really lovers of music. There was no song which was performed that was not danced to
The last group standing in Oseikrom ‘Bradez’ came with a heated spirit as Flow King Stone came in with his over fifteen minutes freestyle. Stone who came to pave way for his junior brother Kunta welcomed him with his melodious voice as he came in with freestyle of simple. Bradez together with their DJ, Slim rocked the house as they asked for more when Bradez was leaving stage. Kunta was nearly carried away when he started dancing Azonto with only one hand.
The fans continued as the Tema boys, R2bees came to continue and the heated up the fire which was already burning as Paedae came in with his Tema motto way freestyle. Mugeez who was also heated at the back stage came with their hit song ‘I Dey Mad’. The crowed could not sit on their buttocks as the duo started doing what they always do best. The whole house stood to their feet and danced for their over thirty minutes on stage. R2bees also gave away a CD’s of their current song ‘ODO’
The whole auditorium went crazy as MC of the day, Mahony of KFM called the last group 4×4. The newly wedded man of the group, Coded, Fresh Prince and Captain Planet started with freestyles and started dishing out their songs. The crowd who didn’t want the group to leave stage kept on naming tracks they wanted from the group and 4×4 made sure it was delivered. There was no song which was not sang by fans
They show in all was a success. From the organizers, sound, security, through to the performances by the artiste to the photo shoots with the stars and fans was a must to attend event. We will be giving you the footage and photos of the whole event soon.
