Takoradi, Oct. 12, GNA 97 A 67-year-old British national, Reginald Follet, on Tuesday threw the Takoradi Circuit Court 93A" into laughter when he blew kisses with lovely smiles across the witness box towards his estranged wife, Benedicta Adenyo, who also happened to be the accused.
The action of the British prompted the presiding judge, Mr Kwasi Boakye to inquire from him whether his action signified reconciliation and an end to the legal tussle between them. Mr Follet, however, explained that his action was just to show that he was missing his wife because it was a long time he saw her after she left her matrimonial home, and asked the judge to continue the case.
Mr Follet lodged a complaint with the police against his wife for unlawful damage to his multi-functional electronic printer worth GHc500.
Presenting the facts of the case, Inspector Bernard Annor told the court that, the complainant, Reginald Follet and Benedicta Adenyo, 27, had been married for six years and had two children. He said the couple had a number of marriage disputes and the wife vacated her matrimonial home with her children to an unknown destination.
On April 19, this year, at about 10:00 hours, the accused went to her husband's residence at New Amanful, a vicinity in Takoradi, and dashed her husband's multi-functional electronic printer worth GHc500 on the floor destroying it in the process. The complainant lodged a complaint with the police and the accused was invited for questioning but she failed to show up at the police station. A court warrant was served on her to appear before the court which she responded. The court adjourned the case to October 31, 2011 for further hearing. 12 Oct. 11
