Gospel musician, Bro Sammy has been hit with a barrage of criticisms by a section of the public for composing a song punctuated with insults and demeaning descriptions to his targets, abrantepa.com has observed.

In the said piece, the artiste who calls himself 'the Nation's Worshiper' sang that people who are useless, not worthy as well as those with discolored teeth and bad breath always spew gibberish.

While some assert that gospel musicians are supposed to win souls, inspire humans, glorify and exalt God through their songs hence chastising Bro Sammy, Captain Smart has hailed the singer.

According to the Adom FM morning show host, the ‘nnipafoo’ song is the best creativity ever.

He admitted that “what Bro Sammy did is not directly in line with his profession as a gospel musician” but insisted that the artiste did not in any way err.

“Sometimes when you’re full up of pain, you can express it. He never insulted anyone. If you’ve spoken evil about him, then he is referring to you. Even the Bible said it is not only the old who are wise,” he said on Daybreak Hitz, Wednesday.

“When I say you are empty, I haven’t insulted you. I mean you’re empty-headed. What offence has Bro Sammy committed? He says useless people talk thrash. Why be bothered when you don’t talk trash about people you hardly know. Tell Bro Sammy that this is the best creativity,” he added.

For some critics, Bro Sammy should apologise for goofing but Captain Smart insisted that the singer owes nobody an apology.

“He should apologise to who? At any point in time in a man’s life, some sort of insult is permissible… I am not just endorsing the song; I will join him to remix it” he noted.

In his bid to clear the artiste from blame, Captain Smart misquoted the Bible as he stated that the Scripture says humans are like filthy rags in the eyes of God, hence Bro Sammy’s description of some humans as useless is not outrageous.

Isaiah 64.6 [KJV] rather states that “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
