Grammy Award nominee Burna Boy stood out with an eclectic performance at this year’s edition of ‘Manifestivities’.

Microphone in hand and the crowd screaming to welcome him, the Nigerian who has to his credit several hit songs, spent almost thirty minutes on stage with his band thrilling fans with his repertoire and well-rehearsed stagecraft.

Among the songs he performed was ‘Ye’ – a track on his ‘Outside’ album released on August 6, 2018. The popular song is said to have benefited from Kanye West's ‘Ye’ album as it recorded huge figures in streams with folks stumbling upon Burna Boy’s song instead, when they searched the American rapper’s.

The tall and imposing 28-year-old who is arguably the most popular exponent of Afro-Fusion at the moment also performed ‘Dangote’ - a song that encourages the youth to overcome poverty using Nigerian business mogul, Aliko Dangote’s wealth as a guiding light.

What seemed to have marvelled the audience even more, was how Burna Boy exited the stage. Damini Ogulu as the musician is known in real life, after a spectacular performance which aroused the ecstasy of the audience, raised the microphone and dropped it on the stage – symbolizing that he had injected some sort of heat into it with his performance and had become overly hot to handle.

One other performer who impressed the audience was Yung Pabi. The budding rapper captured the attention of the crowd with his stagecraft, lyrical dexterity and constant interaction. With his props, Yung Pabi told the story of how many Christians, through their deeds, have deepened the wounds of Jesus Christ and the need to end evil acts.

M.anifest, the headliner of the event neither delivered a topnotch nor below par performance. For some patrons, aside the fact that the ‘god MC’ did not keep long on stage compared to last year, his performance was ordinary.

Other acts who performed at the event included Adekunle Gold, Worlasi, Kelvyn Boy and Cina Soul.

Held at Bukom Arena, Sunday, the 6-hour event saw hundreds of music lovers in attendance with the aim of enjoying performances and fraternizing.
