Butcher defiles girl, 13

Tema, April 15, GNA- A butcher who defiled a 13-year-old girl at Tulaku, New Ashaiman, near Tema has been remanded by the Tema circuit court "B".

Mohamud Osumanu pleaded not guilty and will reappear on April 22. Police Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on March 10, 2004, at about 2000 hours, the victim attended a nature's call at a nearby bush where Osumanu lives.


She said Osumanu saw the victim and invited her to his room, and had sex with her twice.

Osumanu kept the girl in his room till the next day. The following morning at 0700 hours the accused gave the victim 10,000 cedis to go and buy some food.


Inspector Gyamfi said the victim reported her ordeal to her senior sister, who informed the police and Osumanu was arrested. The victim was given a police medical form to the Tema General Hospital for treatment.
