Ghanaian Afro-pop artiste, Tiffany Owusu, popularly referred to as Itz Tiffany’ has sided with the PNC presidential aspirant, Edward Mahama insisting that her own research has also indicated that homosexuality is not a healthy habit.

Presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr. Edward Mahama suggested last week when he took his turn at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) lecture that homosexuality is not a healthy sexual practice.

“I tell lesbians and gays who come to me that it (homosexuality) is not a healthy sexual habit. If you enjoy it, do it but you are taking a risk,” the Flagbearer cautioned. Itz Tiffany, who was a co-host on Ghana’s biggest celebrity and lifestyle show, Celebrity Fanzone on Viasat1 last Saturday, agreed with the PNC Flagbearer’s position but insisted that homosexuals must not be discriminated upon.

“In my opinion, I feel like our religion is more of like… it’s not allowed, a man has to be with a woman and a woman with man, but I will not sit here and say people that are with women or with men are wrong. One thing I agree on with him (Mahama) is that from his point of view, it’s not healthy because I read that some of them are infected by doing certain things…so I agree with him from that point of view, but I feel like everybody is entitled to what they do,” Itz Tiffany argued.

Co-hosts, Jessica Opare Saforo and Chantelle Asante also maintained that religious persons who find homosexuality offensive should pray for them instead of judging them. “If you disagree with the person and you are so religious, pray for the lost souls and do not judge them.”

Some viewers who had very different opinions on the homosexuality debate took to social media to express their views. Nana Akua Afriyie Fosuhene argued, “Concerning homosexuality, we don’t condemn them but the act….being a homosexual is a choice…everything is permissible but not everything is right….Even animals do not sleep male male and female female.

It’s wrong and must not be promoted.” Gustav Asa Smith also posted on CFZ Facebook page, “Homosexuals choose to be homosexuals, its’ their choice and every choice has its consequences.” What are your views on homosexuality and its implication for society?
