Charlie Dior has revealed how the term "Kwadwo Besia," which translates to "effeminate men," affected him psychologically.

The US-based Ghanaian fashion critic shared that this term was used against him throughout his childhood, with students and even teachers, who should have corrected such misconceptions, using it.

In an interview with Delay TV, Charlie Dior explained that the constant use of the term led him to believe there was something inherently wrong with him.

He said, “It made me feel bad because everyone called me that. My peers and even teachers. It affected my psyche, making me feel there was something wrong with me.”

Charlie Dior expressed that he felt bullied and that the term was used as a weapon against him.

“I felt bullied and that they saw something in me and weaponized it against me,” he said.

When asked how he identifies, Charlie Dior, who embraces femininity through his clothing, makeup, and even the way he walks, stated that he is a man.
