Cameroonian Music To Perform @ Film Festival

Accra-based Cameroonian musician Armand Ntep will on Friday, November 25 perform at the opening of the Red Ribbons International Film Festival at the Alliance Française in Accra.

A prolific composer, Ntep is set to mesmerize patrons with ground breaking compositions ranging from an amazing fusion of Lihongo, Makossa, Bikutsi rhythms as well as hip hop, salsa and reggae.

Noted for his unique voice, Ntep’s vocal strength lies in a silky baritone croon to pigmy-inspired syncopation as well as tender tenor ballads that have swayed audiences in the United States, Europe and several parts of Africa.

Red Ribbons Film Festival, which ends on Sunday, November 27 will feature films from diverse African countries. These include Kenya, Malawi, Ghana, Namibia and Republic of South Africa.

Films slated to be screened include ‘Qaphela Wenze’, ‘Give Stigma the Index Finger’, ‘And Whose to Blame’, ‘My Love’, ‘The Promised Land’, ‘Intersection’, ‘Miss HIV’, ‘Protection’ and ‘Mawa Langa’.

Ghana Health Service, World Health Organization and UNAIDS are partnering the organizers of Red Ribbon Film Festival for its maiden edition. It is being supported by the Alliance Française and the French Embassy in Accra.
