Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor, has pinpointed the root causes behind the frequent deaths among Nollywood actors.

Addressing a gathering in Lagos, she attributed these tragedies to the actors' negligence and carelessness regarding their health.

"When you are deeply engrossed in something you love, you tend to neglect your health. As long as there is life in you, you keep pushing yourself. But this lifestyle eventually takes its toll on your body," she explained.

"Some people are so careless that instead of seeking proper medical attention when they fall ill, they opt for over-the-counter medications from pharmacies or chemists," she lamented. "It's alarming and unsafe."

Reflecting on her emotional breakdown at the burial of the late comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, she shared, "When I approached his lifeless body and called out to him using his familiar name, and he didn't respond, it hit me hard. That's when I realized he was truly gone."

She urged her colleagues in the industry to prioritize regular medical check-ups and avoid habits that could jeopardize their health.

Recalling a pivotal spiritual experience in 2016, Ozokwor described how she felt called by God to dedicate herself to a higher purpose. "I used to teach in church, but God called me to a deeper level of service. I underwent a transformative 30-day period of separation, during which I was profoundly changed," she recounted.

"After this encounter, I began to receive invitations to share my testimony at various Christian events, where miraculous things happened. This marked the beginning of my journey as an evangelist," she concluded.
