'Castro’s disappearance led me to take a break from music' – D-Black

Ghanaian hip-hop musician Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, also known as D-Black, has revealed that the sudden disappearance of hiplife artiste Castro led him to take a break from music.

In an interview on GhanaWeb's "Takertainment" with Elsie Lamar, he stated that Castro's death had a profound impact on him.

According to him, felt uncomfortable performing the songs he had collaborated on with Castro since Castro's body was not found.

“When Castro’s situation happened, I took a break from music because the most popular songs I had were with him; Seihor and Personal Person.

“I didn't feel comfortable going on stage to perform those songs either when they couldn't find his body,” he stated.

When asked about the origin of his nickname "Enjoyment Minister," D-Black said, "I went into the hospitality business. I started my nightclub and event company. A lot of what I was doing was about cooling my head and enjoyment. That’s how my friends gave me the title. It was a lot of back-to-back parties and enjoyment.”
