Champion Rolie speaks on dating Afronitaaa

While Champion Rolie denied being in a relationship with his colleague dancer Afronitaaa, he did not rule out the possibility of dating and marrying her in the future.

“It’s possible. Of course, she’s a wife material,” said the dancer in his interview on The Delay Show aired on May 11, 2024.

The duo have been rumoured to be in a relationship. However, both have denied it, asserting that they are just friends. They stress that their rapport is what has fueled claims of an amorous relationship between them.

“We’re not dating. She’s my personal person. She’s not my girlfriend,” said Champion Rolie. "I haven't approached her yet, but she's cool. I like her; she’s my personal person… People like our connection. It inspires them, which is why they think we’re dating. Some of these people wish they had such a rapport in their relationships, but they don’t have that.”

Although he spoke highly of Afronitaaa and the chemistry between them, Champion Rolie said he is not looking forward to dating her anytime soon. Asked if he wanted to date Afronitaaa, he replied, “Oh, not now. In the future, if there’s a chance…”

On the occasion of Afronitaaa’s 20th birthday in November 2023, Champion Rolie bought her an iPhone 15 Pro Max that cost GH¢20,000, a present that got tongues wagging.

“Why buy such an item for a lady you’re not dating?” Deloris Frimpong Manso, host of The Delay Show asked.

Rolie replied: “She’s my favourite person and it was her birthday. It’s once in a lifetime, it’s once in a year… I just made her feel special because she's special.
