Actor, David Oscar, is calling on organizers of the 2016 Ghana Music Awards to apologize to highlife veteran, A.B. Crentsil, for the poor presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Speaking to hypingghana.com David Oscar said the embarrassing nature in which the award was presented speaks volumes about the seeming lack of respect by Charter House towards musicians in Ghana.

He said A.B. Crentsil deserves great respect and honour for his enormous contributions to the development of popular music in Ghana in a career spanning over 40 years.

“The Lifetime Achievement Award must not be perceived as an ordinary award because it is done in recognition of an entire career full of achievements and contributions to the industry. Recipients must feel truly celebrated. What happened that night was a charade unworthy for a winner of such an award,” he stated.

David, a comedian turned musician, who is currently promoting his reggae single, Rasta Love, also urged the event management company to redesign the Lifetime Achievement Award to be one of the most important prizes in subsequent events, by including a short video as well as well-rehearsed performances in honour of the recipient.
