Young and upcoming musician, Henry Chempe, has vowed to change the face of the music industry in Ghana by coming out with a new style of music, which he calls “Urban life”.

He described urban life as the fusion of Ghanaian music with other music of the various attractive cultures of the African continent.

When he performed at the Accra Conference Centre some weeks ago, he impressed the audience with his lyrics which was in English, and so was understood by everyone. Which he hopes could help Ghana music on the international market.

P&P caught up with Henry Chempe and asked where he got his inspiration from to churn out such romantic songs.

According to him, his inspiration is based on real life experiences about relationships in various situations and stages of his life, and declared that he discovered his music talent when he was in the primary school.

In one of his songs entitled ‘Pampana’, which is yet to be released, the young musician appealed for respect for his love or married life, and that when a person is in love, he should be able to express it freely without others interfering.

And that one should be able to cherish such a person and not use her heart to play game .

Chempe had his primary school education at the Tema 1st Baptist School and moved to the Ghana National School where he just completed his Senior secondary school education.

Chempe has changed the trend of the music industry with his English lyrics, coming at a time when some music fans have complained of most hiplife artistes not being able to sing properly in English.
