Award winning, singer and songwriter, Chemphe is set to take on another CSR project as part of his Global Citizens Initiative.
Dubbed the Ghana Autism Awareness Campaign, the project seeks to raise a stronger public and parental awareness on Autism, advocate for policies for an enhanced public and private services in health, education and specialist care for persons and children with Autism.
The campaign would also assist in equipping existing Autism Centers in Accra to provide effective and efficient care for “Autists” in their abode as well as expand their operations beyond the shores of Accra.
In collaboration with the Government of Ghana and a number international agencies, the two year Ghana Autism Awareness Campaign would from January 2016 to December 2018 roll out a series of activities and activations to fulfill and achieve the goals and objectives of the campaign.
The Ghana Autism Awareness Campaign has become critically necessary as many parents and guardians in Ghana are in denial of the Autism Spectrum Disorder in their children and are not seeking the necessary help or perhaps, may be ignorant about it.
The major components of Chemphe’s autism campaign which would include a research on prevalence of the disorder, educating and raising awareness as well as reaching out to children and persons with autism would lay the foundations for the establishment of a National Autism Management Center to promote best practices, and offer wide-ranging, consistent and reliable resources for families, practitioners, and communities through its Autism Centers across the country.
According to Chemphe, the Ghana Autism Awareness Campaign would be one of the most sustainable ways of making the world a better place for children and persons with autism in Ghana.
He is thus calling on everyone as “Global Citizens” of the world to support this initiative which would be “Inspiring Change and Improving Lives” for the good of mother Ghana.
The campaign would be managed by a joint collaboration between the Chemphe Change Foundation and Diplomatic Call.
