Chief strips naked

NANA NKANSAH Brempong II, Chief of Akokoammon near Kumasi have had to strip naked to prevent the police from arresting him last April 27.

He is alleged to have illegally sold a building plot belonging to the Duase Stool Lands and registered in the name of one Margaret Osei Boakye, alias Nana Ama. The Chronicle gathered from the police that the chief, also known as Nana Charles happened to be in a relationship with the complainant’s mother, Madam Margaret Boakye, native of Bonwire (now deceased).

The source said when she died on January 18,1997, family members allocated part of her building plot No. 9A on the Kyerewa Gyeabour Street at Buokrom in Kumasi to the complainant. The case was reported to the Asawasi police who made an attempt to arrest him. Nana Brempong denied the allegation, claiming that it was rather the complainant who is guilty of having illegally sold land belonging to him (chief).
