Entertainment pundit Nana Frimpong Ziega has claimed that church leaders like Pastor Love are the ones contributing to the decline of Christianity in the country.

Pastor Love was sentenced to 48 months in prison following a prolonged legal battle over a car he sold without accounting for the proceeds.

In an interview on UTV's United Showbiz, Ziega pointed out that while leaders like Pastor Mensa Otabil and Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams are winning souls for Christ, Pastor Love is doing the opposite.

"Negative publicity surrounding men of God in Africa is what Pastor Love has created. While church leaders like Archbishop Duncan-Williams and Mensa Otabil are bringing people into Christianity, we have pastors like Pastor Love reversing that progress, which sets a poor example," he stated.

Ziega also criticised Pastor Love for not showing remorse during the court proceedings, suggesting that it could have influenced the judge to grant him leniency in paying for the car.

"Pastor Love didn't exemplify a good Christian life. He was arrogant throughout the court proceedings," he added. "What he did amounts to theft, and he should have shown remorse. Instead, he seemed to rely on his connections. If it had been someone else, they might be facing much harsher consequences."

While some express sympathy and argue that Pastor Love could have received a more lenient punishment or even just a fine, others insist he deserves no mercy.

Pastor Love's case, which began in 2017, concluded with him being found guilty of theft, appropriation, and dishonesty.
