Soul Singer Cina Soul has been named as one of the supporting acts for Poetra Asantewa’s headlining show ‘Drum Roll, Please’ which will take place on Thursday, December 1 at the Legon Drama School.

Music Producer KaySo and Spoken Word Artiste Hondred Percent will also support on the night.

The event will see Poetra Asantewa perform her pieces which have endeared her to a growing fan base.

She recently performed at the Lagos International Poetry Festival, and was also named as a 2016 OneBeat Fellow.

OneBeat is an international cultural exchange that celebrates the transformative power of the arts through the creation of original, inventive music, and people-to-people diplomacy.

In October 2015, Poetra Asantewa released her debut EP Motherfuckitude: The Naked Ones to great reviews. The spoken word project fused contemporary poetry with neo-soul and jazz, and was recorded and produced by musician, Kyekyeku.

Her art tackles topics including feminism, education standards, and mental health awareness/depression.

Born Ama Asantewa Diaka, she is also an entrepreneur and founder of Alikoto Clothing and Yobbings.

Diaka also founded Love Rocks, a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to helping young students learn outside of the box.
