Clara Amfo wins best Radio Personality at 2016 Glamour Awards

Media Personality Clara Amfo won Best Radio Personality at the 2016 Glamour Woman of The Year Awards held last night in MayFaair, London.

The award scheme recognizes names from the world of entertainment. This year’s edition was hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

Amfo was presented with her award by Singer Craig David. “It is weird being here – It is like Glamour Magazine has come to life.”

She wrote later on Instagram: “What a joy to receive an award from this don, @craigdavid #glamourawards.”

Amfo joined 1Xtra in 2014. She spoke to this reporter about her experience in her first week.

“There have been a lot! Obviously my very first show as I had not been on air for three months prior. It was great to push up the fader and get on with it. Interviewing Pharrel Williams was special as he is one of my Top 3 musical heroes … and luckily he was nice.”

She currently works with BBC 1 Radio, presenting the station’s Official Chart Show.

The 13th edition of the awards scheme was organized by Glamour Magazine.
