Reggae artiste Ras Kuuku has urged society to rethink how it views young people from disadvantaged communities, adding that such stigma and neglect are doing far more harm than good.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the musician said ghetto youth are too often judged by their environment rather than their potential.

This perception, he believes, shuts doors that should otherwise be open to them.

"Ghetto youth are not rascals. They are full of talent and creativity, they just need support and guidance," he said.

He called for deliberate investment in these young people through mentorship, education, skills training and access to creative platforms, insisting that the right support system can turn their lives around.

“When we empower them properly, they will stay away from things that put them in a bad light,” he added.
