Concise account of Ebony’s life story

Information compiled by mynewsgh.com gives a concise account of the late promising and energetic dancehall artiste, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng famously known in the showbiz as Ebony Reigns’ life story that you should know.

The late, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng was born on Sunday 16th February, 1997 to Nana Opoku Kwarteng and madam, Beatrice Oppong Marthin at Dansoman in the Greater Accra region. Her father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng hails from Ashanti region and he is a chief.

Ebony Reigns was the last born of her mother. Both her parents and siblings call her ‘Nana Hemaa’ meaning Queen.

Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng started her basic education at Seven Great Academy at Dansoman, Accra the very community she was born. She later continued her Senior High school education at Methodist Girls Senior High school at Mamfe in the Akuapim North District of the Eastern region and completed in 2015.

Right after senior high school, Ebony had no interest in education rather, she was much enthusiastic in pushing career in music. Her father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng humbly understood her and pledged his unflinching support to her music career.

After her decision to push her music career, she managed and got the contact of Mr Ricky Nana Agyemang known in the entertainment industry as Bullet ( Ruff N Smooth). Ebony recorded herself singing and sent it to Bullet. According to report, Bullet was captivated when he heard the young girl’s voice.

Bullet immediately called Ebony and signed her unto his Ruff Town Record, and later signed her also onto Mediastouch inc ( Owned Gatdoe). Bullet started managing Ebony until that faithful day despite rumours of a break in their relationship.

The late Ebony Reigns released the following songs within the two year period available she was in the industry.

“Maame Hw3?, Hustle, Sponsor, ''Date Ur Fada” “Kupe” Dancefloor, Aseda and others.



In 2015, when she released ‘Dancefloor’ , Ebony was nominated for Vodafone Ghana Music Award’s Unsung category. Though she could not get the award, it gave her confidence in the music industry.

On Thursday, 8th February, 2018, the late dancehall artiste, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng paid a visit to her relatives at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region. On her return to Accra she involved in a fatal car accident at Nyamebekyere near Mankranso about 11pm, where she met her untimely death. She passed on together with two others where one was a military officer.

Ebony was so passionate about cervical cancer that she created a foundation called “Ebony Cervical Cancer Foundation” to bring awareness, prevention and cure to her youthful support base but could not launch it before the tragedy.
