Ghanaian content creator and digital media entrepreneur Joseph Adjei, popularly known as BlacVolta, has come under intense public scrutiny following the resurfacing of a series of old tweets dating between 2010 and 2012 that many have described as rape apologist and containing references to minors in a sexual context.

The tweets, which began circulating widely online, have drawn sharp condemnation from the public and calls for the police to investigate the content creator, who is the founder and Creative Director of BlacVolta, a prominent Ghanaian 360° digital media, marketing, and nightlife coverage firm established in 2022.

In some of the disturbing tweets, he could be seen talking about child-trafficking, sex with minors, and stating that rape was not a serious offense.

The resurfacing of the posts comes in the immediate aftermath of the arrest of another content creator, SoAfrican, identified as Joshua Kojo Anane Boateng, who was picked up by the CID Cybercrime Unit and the Bureau of National Investigations over allegations of drugging women and sharing videos of the alleged acts online without their consent.

Who is SoAfrican, the lifestyle influencer arrested over alleged sexual abuse?

BlacVolta and SoAfrican were known associates in Ghana's content creation and nightlife coverage space.

Reactions online ranged from calls for immediate arrest to demands for an explanation from the content creator.

"They need to arrest this BlacVolta guy," one user wrote. "Deleting the tweets won't change the fact that the reason you cannot speak against this rapist is that you're all the same — a merry band of rapists," said another. A third user wrote: "You celebrate, endorse and justify rape."

Others questioned what prompted the posts in the first place. "What made you tweet those things? Were you on pills?" one follower asked directly.

Law enforcement authorities had also not made any public statement regarding the resurfaced content.
