Top Ghanaian movie production, HM films will be unleashing its latest movie, Asylum Down on the big screens via an anticipated huge public premiere on February 10 at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra.
It will continue to show through the valentine season. Asylum Down is being described as a movie of a kind. It is full of thrills and suspense. The movie generated a number of controversies following reports that two male actors fought over one of the lead actresses in the film.
However the movie unveils some of the heinous crimes committed by trusted people in society. It opens with a search for the murderer of a prominent business tycoon. The tycoon’s son, played by David Forson, has sworn heaven and earth to find his father’s killer.
A professor in clinical human psychology is dragged into the matter to find the killer since the only witness at the murder scene is a mentally unstable man. Hell breaks loose when the professor discovers the witness has no clue about the killer. He must find the killer at all cost else his family dies! The movie comes with a lot of action packed scene and features stars Nollywood actor Scott Robert, John Dumelo, Kalsume Sinare, Magdalene Mensah, David Hans and a number of others.
The premiere is expected to gather together a number of Ghana’s top movie producers, stars and the cast. HM films last produced ‘Who Own Da City’ which received nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards and Ghana Movie Awards. The new movie is however expected to do better than Who Owns Da City.
A couple of months ago, NEWS-ONE reported that the shoot of Asylum Down, turned near-bloody as the lead cast of the movie started exchanging fisticuffs over an actress in the movie. Sources told this paper that popular Nigerian actor, Scott Robert, who played one of the lead roles in the production, threw violent blows over lead actress, Magdalene Mensah during the shoot.
Reports say Scott and another rising Ghanaian actor whose name was given as David Hans were both in love with Magdalene. Though the guys are very good friends, they were madly in love in Magdalene to the extent that they tried to stab each other in the back just to win her love.
Unfortunately, this rivalry continued until it generated into a man to man physical confrontation involving jabs and upper cuts. NEWS-ONE investigations and sources reveal that “Hell broke loose” at the Afrikiko Restaurant when the two men shamelessly engaged in a real public fight over the actress.
They broke bottles and were just about ‘killing’ themselves. But what could be described as a near bloody scene was saved by producer, Sorag, son of popular producer, Hammond Mensah of HM Films and his friends who separated them. “Sorag was made to pay for damages they caused at Afrikiko. It was really crazy.
The lady loves the Nigerian guy, you know some of these our Ghanaian ladies and Nigerian guys. But David was the one who made the move first and he has been talking to Scott about Magdalene. But Scott goes behind him to tell Magdalene other things,” the source added. NEWS-ONE tried to get in touch with the Nigerian actor but it was difficult to reach him just as it was difficult to reach Magdalene and David who are here in Ghana.
