Coronavirus: If we’re under-testing and it’s spreading, then we’re joking – Knii Lante

Reggae star-medical doctor Nii Okunka Blankson, popularly known in showbiz circles as Knii Lante, has said if Ghana is “under-testing” the COVID-19 cases “and the thing is spreading, then we are joking”.

Speaking to Nana Kwesi Asare on the Big Show on Saturday, 6 June 2020 on Class91.3FM, Knii Lante said: “If we are under-testing and the thing is spreading, then we are joking but I do not have the information”.

“As I am saying, we have to accept what they are telling us; we are not the data, we are not the people who produce the data”, he said, adding: “But we just have to pray that we are not under-estimating the virus; that’s all.”

Knii Lante continued: “I was happy about the measures they took at first – the initial measures– closing of borders, the social-distancing, trying to enforce it, and the lockdown”.

“I thought they lifted it too early and I do not know if we are abreast of the testing and all that. I do not have the basics to say that we are cool or not. If we are under-testing and the thing is spreading, then we are joking”.
