Staff of the St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast say they will resist any move to turn the school’s dormitories into an Isolation Centre after the Central Region recorded its first Coronavirus case on Wednesday.

The agitated teachers contend that there are about sixty(60) bungalows on campus where teachers and other staff live hence they cannot share the facility with persons that have been isolated or have been tested for COVID-19.

The worried teachers are holding an emergency meeting Thursday afternoon to discuss the issues and will subsequently table their concerns to the relevant authorities.

As at the time of filing this story, health officials had arrived in the school and were preparing one of the dormitories in order for the process to start.

The Central Region on Wednesday confirmed its first case of coronavirus bringing the total number of regions with cases in the country so far to seven out of the sixteen regions.
