Kumawu (Ash), May 3, GNA - The Kumawu circuit court has bonded over a 56-year-old businessman in the sum of 10 million cedis to be of good behaviour for two years. Philip Aduse-Poku will serve 12 months prison term if he breaks the bond.

The signing of the bond followed the intervention of church members of Aduse-Poku, who paid the sum of 4.5 million cedis he was alleged to have collected from a teacher trainee ostensibly to secure him a Korean visa but which he failed to do.

The accused had pleaded guilty to the charge of fraud. Police Inspector Anthony Godfred Sekyi told the court that somewhere last year, Aduse-Poku took an amount of 4.5 million cedis from Thomas Oppong, a teacher trainee with the promise of getting him a Korean visa. He said, however, that the accused failed to secure the visa for him compelling Oppong to report the matter to the Kumawu police in January this year who arrested him.

Inspector Sekyi said on April 15, the police arraigned him before the court which remanded him in custody for two weeks and then ordered to refund the money.
