Ejisu (Ash), May 12, GNA- A 32-year-old farm labourer was on Tuesday fined one 1,000,000 cedis by the Ejisu Magistrate's court for stealing.
Kwabena Manu will go to prison for 12 months if he fails to pay the fine.
He pleaded guilty.
Police Inspector J.D. Torsu told the court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah that the Juaben Oil Mills Company Limited where the accused works as a labourer had for the past seven months been experiencing theft of palm fruits from its plantations.
He said this prompted the security guards of the company to intensify its guard and at 0600 hours on May 2, Manu was found stealing from the plantation.
