Tema, March 28, GNA - A driver who shot the owner of a land after threatening him has been granted bail in the sum of 200 million cedis by the Tema circuit court "A". Moses Tetteh, who pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, will reappear on April 7, 2004.

Prosecuting, Inspector Adolphus Otchere told the court, presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu, that on March 11, 2004 personnel of the police, court officials and Mr Godwin Agbogedenu, a tailor went to a house in Kpone to carry out a High Court order to evict Tetteh who had lost a land suit. He said during the execution of the order by the officials, Tetteh, who was bitter for losing the case, threatened the complainant that he would kill him.

On the same day at about 2300 hours, while the complainant was sleeping on a bench in his house, he was shot at with a gun and later two pellets were removed from his back while a third remained in his body. In applying for bail, the defence counsel maintained that Tetteh was framed up because there was nothing showing that he was the one who shot the victim.
