Nkawie (Ash), April 2, GNA- The Nkawie Magistrate's court on Wednesday remanded a 30-year-old housewife in prison custody for chopping off the finger of one Abena Kwabena. Abena Nsiah pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on April 16. Police Chief Inspector Harrison Agyare told the court that Abena Kwabena, the complainant, and the accused both lived at Esaase near Nkawie. He said about two weeks ago, the accused took 8,000 cedis from the complainant and promised to work for her in return but she failed to honour her promise.

Chief Inspector Agyare said on February 14, this year, the complainant informed the husband of the accused about the behaviour of his wife. He said the accused who was in the house, unexpectedly came round held the hands of the victim and chopped off one of her fingers. The prosecutor said a report was made to the police and she was arrested.
