Court remands man for defilement

Tema, May 24, GNA- A 23-year-old mason who defiled a 13-year -old girl has been remanded into prison custody by the Tema circuit court "A". Kwabena Sarfo pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on June six. Chief Inspector Mary Assunta told the court that on April 22, 2004, at about 1900 hours, the victim's father sent her to buy a mosquito coil from a nearby shop.

On her way back Sarfo met her, dragged the victim to an uncompleted building and forcibly had sex with her.

Chief Inspector Assunta said the victim started shouting for help that attracted the neighbourhood including he (victim's) father, and the accused took to his hells.

The accused was however arrested and sent to Ashaiman police station.
