Court remands man for stealing parts of accident vehicles

Ejisu (Ash), July 11, GNA- The Ejisu Magistrate's court has remanded a 25-year-old unemployed, Akwasi Mensah, into police custody for causing unlawful damage.

He faces additional charges of unlawful entry and stealing and pleaded guilty to the charges.

The accused would re-appear on July 14.

Police Inspector Nkansah Twumasi-Ankrah told the court that for sometime now thieves have been stealing parts of accident vehicles packed in front of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) charge office at Ejisu in Ashanti.

The police on July 1 detected that someone had attempted to remove a car tape from one of the accident vehicles belonging to the VAT Service.

He said policemen on July 2, found Mensah entering one of vehicles and attempting to remove a car tape.
