Accra, Aug. 15, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Friday restrained the Resurrection and Life Ministries and its followers from conducting night church service to stop disturbing the peace of residents at South Ofankor in Accra.

The court also ordered the church to be restricted from committing further acts of nuisance, until the final determination of the suit. Six residents had filed an ex-parte motion asking the Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Emmanuel Ankamah to restrain the defendants until the issue raised by the claimants was determined.

The plaintiffs are Mr Chrys Obeng, Madam Konadu, Mrs Tenkorang, Mr Asumadu, Mr Kofi Baah and Mr and Mrs Banas, all resident at South Ofankor.

In an affidavit in support of their claim, the plaintiffs stated that the Resurrection and Life Ministries carried out its activities in the day and at night at South Ofankor, which is a residential area. They said the defendant's worshipping activities sometimes continues until dawn.

The plaintiffs stated further that they asked the defendants to stop their night services, which kept the neighbours awake all night, but they did not stop.

The affidavit said several notices were served on the defendants, with copies to the Police and the Town and Country Planning Department, which intimated that the church did not have a building permit.
