The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Catherine Afeku has said it is sad that the scope of the Creative Arts Industry in Ghana has been limited to only singing and acting.

According to her, people in Ghana have limited the scope of the creative arts industry to acting and singing because they can make noise for their voices to be heard.

She indicated that the limited scope of the Creative Arts industry is as a result of the fact that the industry lacks database that captures the over hundred sectors of the Creative Arts Industry.

Catherine Afeku who was speaking to Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio's Kofi Asante said "People are underestimating our industry to think it's all about singing and acting just because of our limited imagination. The Creative Arts industry includes people drawing, people in fashion, sculpture and many other sectors. So we need to do stakeholder consultations so that we will get all actors in the industry."

We are sitting here making noise because one or two people can sing or act so we should make creative arts about them," She told Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio.

She indicated that in the coming days, the Creative Arts Council will go round the country to be able to compile data in order for the industry to have information of individuals in the Creative Arts Industry; this according to her will help Creative Arts Ministry budget well and be able to source for funds to support the industry.
