New sensation D-Cryme (real name: Darlington Kwasi Agyekum) has publicly apologized to his fans for failing to perform at the just gone by “Samini Host Mavado Live in Ghana” concert at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday October 8, 2011.
D-Cryme who was supposed to perform on the show, reportedly drove off his car angrily from the Stadium when security officers denied him and his team entry because they didn’t have the required artiste tag.
Speaking on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” program D-Cryme said he was not in the right mood at that moment so he had to leave to avoid further confrontations with security officers at the event.
“I know I disappointed my fans that day but I broadcasted it on my facebook wall and my twitter page as well that they should forgive me for not performing because I couldn’t explain further but deeply to all my fans, I am really sorry for what happened at that moment. It was because of the mistake of a few people that made that happen but I know if I had wronged all my fans and Ghanaians in general it would have been difficult for me to apologize to all of them so it was better I dealt with the few people at the gate and left”.
Explaining what really happened, the “Kill Me Shy” hit maker said he was called to come and support Samini who he described as a senior brother. “I came there to support but when I got to the entrance there was some misunderstanding between me and the organizing team. I won’t say it is an issue of security but I think poor co-ordination between the organizers and security”, he explained. D-Cryme who doesn’t want to blame anybody, said he had to leave because “It is best sometimes to move from the battlefield to prepare yourself properly and come win the next time than over reacting because of anger and regret later”.
He said his mood changed that moment and he didn’t want to pretend that everything was alright and go on stage with that mood “Things didn’t go well for me so I had to excuse myself and calm myself down”.
He said if he had the chance, he would have gone on stage to explain to his fans that came to the show because of him, why he was leaving but that couldn’t happen so he wants to use this opportunity to officially apologize to all his fans. Asked if he was paid to perform on the show he said he was just there to support his brother Samini.
Dr. Cryme who has currently been announced as a Samsung brand ambassador, also used the opportunity to address his reported flop at the 020 Live concert in the Dome at the Accra International Conference Centre, on Tuesday September 20, 2011.
D-Cryme said it is not true he flopped but he does not want to go into the details. He rather urged members of the media to contact him if there is any issues him for him to explain himself than to criticize him or write something about him without hearing his side of the issue.
D-Cryme is due to launch his much awaited maiden album titled “Finally Finally” which has his hit single “Kill Me Shy” on November 4, 2011 at Citizen Kofi in Accra.
