Ghanaian rapper, D Cryme has expressed his distaste for the habit of playing few minutes or seconds of songs by some Ghanaian DJ’s, especially those on radio.
According to the “Kill Me Shy” hit maker, when artistes release good songs, DJ’s do not allow listeners ample time to hear the entire song.
In an interview with Empress Neeta of Showbiz Agenda News Review on Zylofon 102.1 FM, D Cryme said, “when the songs are good, they need to play everything, but these DJ’s play about one minute or less of the song and that’s it.”
The rapper said, this habit is only acceptable from Club DJ’s, however, it is unprofessional when practiced on radio.
He asked radio DJ’s to play the entire three minutes of songs, so fans who are interested in learning the lyrics can do so.
However, he opined that artistes who recorded songs beyond three minutes are going to lose out, hence they should stick to the status quo.
“They should play the entire three minutes of the song, then those who record several minutes of songs can take a lesson from that”, he added.
