Comedian Derrick Kwabena Bonney popularly known as DKB has fired back critics after his invite by the president of the land, His Excellency, Nana Akufo-Addo.

It will be recalled that, the President recently agreed to host the popular comedian at Jubilee House, the seat of government, to talk about the future of Comedy in Ghana and more. This, some people including industry see as joke, disrespectful and unnecessary.

However the comedian finds this disturbing, and the described critics as low life and haters of Ghana comedy.

Explaining what really happened on the night, he told host DJ Nyaami on 'We Dey Vybe' on SVTV Africa that, there is so much hatred in the industry and that's why this is all happening.

"I was at home when Obour called me to perform for Nana and Bawumia, which is president and vice. I told myself this is a rare opportunity to try my luck and plug in a request, so I perform marvelously on the night and the president and everybody laughed, so I told the president, he must try and host me oo and let's talk about Comedy and the way forward for the young ones. The President stood up shook me and agreed to host me. Then later when the news went out, people started insulting me and bashing me, saying this is bad and disrespectful. This shows that, they are all low life people and has nothing to do with their life. These people including industry persons are all haters" he added.

The comedian furthered that, he granted an interview on a local radio station after the invitation and the presenter asked him, why didn't he go to the ministry rather than making a public request to the president. The Comedian said, he regretted granting the interview and wish the negativity in the industry will stop.

DKB further quizzed critics that, what's the difference between going to the president and the minister?

"I didn't get it and I was very furious but I realise we're on radio, so I told the presenter, president or ministry, they all serve the same purpose"

He urged persons criticising him to stop the negativity and hatred and rather help the Comedy business in Ghana to grow.
