It is no news now that comedian DKB lost his bet on Ghana Black Stars to win the African Cup of Nations Tournament. Well, can you blame him, most Ghanaians were optimistic that this time around the Stars will bring back Gold. To his [DKB] disappointment the Black Stars exited at the second stage of the competition.
The comedian after the loss expressed his disappointment and admitted this was the first time he has ever placed a bet. In a social media post right after the match that saw the Ghana Black Stars out of the tournament, the comedian said “The First time I decided to put my confidence in the Black Stars and place my bet, Ghc 4000 is gone, I could have used it for something profitable like for charity...” Nothing could spell hurt more than the video the comedian put out after the disappointing defeat.
Additional information reaching us says the sports betting company; DAFABET, has decided to give back the Ghc 4000 to DKB to be used for Charity. According to the Country Manager Sybil Diawuo-Appiah, "DKB's bet got a lot of mileage across social media and news lines, so we decided to appreciate him by returning his stake amount to him for any charity of his choice”. This would mean the money is not completely lost, but would serve as a benefit to many under privileged individuals in our society.
Reaching DKB he had this to say, "I want to thank Dafabet for this privilege. It is a great favour done me. Now for my charity of choice, I will want to stick to the reason why I staked the bet, football, and help the Ghana Amputee Football Association with it. I'll donate it to them so they use it for anything they deem important to uplift their fraternity.
