Singer and former leader of hiplife duo, Mframa, Dada Hafco, real name Terry Asare Boamah has added his name to the enviable list of artists with VEVO Channels around the world.

The list includes Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Drake, One Direction, Wizkid, D’Banj, Asa and others.

The Mayentena and Mensesa hit-maker is the first artist in Ghana to have a VEVO channel with only one music video to his credit and also the first Ghanaian to have a VEVO channel one month after the release of his video.

Dada Hafco started his solo career in 2013 after the break-up of his former group, and has since released a couple of singles featuring artiste like KK Fosu, D’Cryme and recently Castro on his new hit single Mayentena which is making waves on Radio, TV and Social Media.

In an interview with Kwesi Aboagye of Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, he indicated that his new management contract would help him push his music to the international circles and we believe this is a good start for him.

Dada Hafco is gradually becoming a household name with his deep researched writing skill, lyrical dexterity and his delivery style. Some people in the industry have tipped him as one of the best writers of his generation and are very hopeful he would shine a lot of light on Ghana in the near future.

VEVO is a video hosting and distribution service owned and operated by a joint venture of Universal Music Group (UMG), Google, Sony Music Entertainment (SME) and Abu Dhabi Media.

VEVO is currently available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The website was scheduled to go worldwide in 2010, but VEVO’s official blog cited licensing issues for the delay in the worldwide rollout. Most of VEVO’s videos on YouTube are viewable by users in other countries all around the world.

VEVO was described as being a Hulu for music videos, with the goal being to attract more high-end advertisers. The site’s other revenue sources include a merchandise store and referral links to purchase viewed songs on Amazon MP3 and iTunes. UMG acquired the domain name VEVO.com on 20 November 2008. The site went live on December 8, 2009, and that same month became the number one most visited music site in the US, overtaking all of its competitors to date.

In June 2012, VEVO launched its certified awards, which honours artists with at least 100 million views on VEVO and its partners (including YouTube) through special features on the VEVO website.

VEVO is also available for a range of platforms including Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows 8, Fire OS, Google TV, Apple TV, Boxee, Roku and Xbox 360.
