Dark Suburb on Saturday enthralled music lovers with a stunning performance as the rock band held its first event for the year at Champs Bar, Accra.

Consisting of anonymous talented musicians who wear skeleton masks as a form of identity, the group of six entertained their fans with their repertoire for hours.

The eccentric Afro rock band, arguably first of its nature in Africa, began their performance with a set from their first album. Eclectic atmosphere was suddenly created within the audience as the band began to unleash lethal strings from their guitars, with fog machines fuming the gothic stage locked between the bar and the pool tables — one could not help but let out the party animal within.

It was easier to connect and enjoy the first 2 hours straight performance because the group mostly sang in pidgin and occasionally, the leader would get down to rock with the audience on the dance floor.

“It was a night of contemporary Afro pop rock that got our blood steamed up,” said a patron.

The event dubbed ‘Dark Suburb in Concert’ also saw captivating performances from Kr8t Music’s Shuga Lord and reggae/dancehall artiste Epixode.

Dark Suburb, winners of 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Unsung, are set to release their first song for the year 2020 on January 31. The piece is titled ‘Kelewele’.
