100 young achievers from 26 African countries have been announced by Africa Youth Awards as part of the 2018 list of 100 Most Influential Young Africans.
The annual prestigious list which was launched in 2016 and currently in its third year features young politicians, activists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, digital influencers, philanthropists & athletes across 10 distinct categories who are blazing various trails and promoting the positive image of Africa across the globe.
Speaking about the publication, Prince Akpah, founding President of Africa Youth Awards, curators of the list noted; the current list features a record 90 new entrants and 43 females.
According to him, this year’s honorees were listed for their individual and collective contributions towards positioning the image of Africa as frontrunners in their respective fields. He also urged other young Africans to emulate the footstep of the listed individuals and join them to make Africa a better and safer place for young dreamers.
Notable among the 2018 honorees are Uganda’s Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine), Togo’s Farida Bemba Nabourema, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Nigeria’s Davido & Tonye Rex Idaminabo, Guinea’s ABD Traore, Kenya’s Xtian Dela, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest and Tanzania’s Alikiba.
Youngest duos on the list include Musician Nasty C from South Africa and Nigeria’s Social Entrepreneur, Wadi Ben-Hirki at 21 years.
Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana & Tanzaania all lead the list with 20, 17, 12 & 8 representatives respectively.
