Dear GhanaWeb,

Before I met my husband, I owned two boutiques, which were flourishing. I wasn’t a lazy person because laziness is not in our blood.

Through the boutiques, I saved enough money to open a cold store business and it was when I was about to get married to my beloved husband.

As my cold store business was about to reach its zenith, my husband begged me to stop working. It was around that time that I was pregnant with our first child.

He begged me to sell my shops and become a housewife because he wanted his children to be well taken care of.

Being on the same side with him was very difficult for me because I wasn’t a housewife material. I have worked all my life, and staying out of business wasn’t ideal for me.

He told me not to worry about how to raise money because he would be paying me every month. Hearing that made me accept his offer. After all, the Bible says wives should be obedient and submissive to their husbands.

He fulfilled his commitments, but for some time now, he complains whenever I put my demands before him.

There hasn’t been tranquillity in the house for a year and counting. We are also fighting, and the issue that sparks the argument is money. It’s either he gives a little or nothing.

Before I gave birth to my third child, I was pregnant with a lot of remote ideas relating to work, but I never brought forth one because my husband opposed them.

He denies me any work engagements, and the money he puts down every day cannot sustain the house.

I'm tired of the everyday disputes.

How do I solve this?
