Voting by SMS for the 36 Afro Pop stars of the Bibini-Metro TV talent hunt began last Saturday at 11:00am on Metro TV’s Morning Ride hosted by the scintillating Anita.
Six Afro Pop Stars performed live one after the other and so much impressed viewers that an astronomical number of SMS calls via Areeba were received during the about 30 minutes programme.
Precisely over 600 people voted on screen, showing clearly that the programme is enjoying viewer-attention and patronage.
Incidentally, the show has been shifted from 11:00am to 12:00 mid-day, and today from 12:00 prompt, viewers will be informed about the outcome of last week’s vote.
In addition, six Afro Pop artistes will appear on screen live and perform. They will get voted for by SMS, the outcome of which will be announced next Saturday.
At the end of six weeks when the hunt is about grinding to its first successful end; Ghanaians will be presented with the Best Hiplife Discovery and the best in reggae, raga, highlife, R&B and Traditional music.
Meanwhile, the Death Squad hiplife Afro Pop group are getting poised to explode onto the music scene, charged with enough musical protons and neutrons to displace current artiste.
The three-man musical death squad will soon be profiled and Ghanaians will know all about their background and of course aspirations of the squad members.
Assessing the Hunt, Faisal Helwani, Project Director and producer of the artistes, said he was much pleased with the progress of work, although it is tedious and needs lot of time to accomplish.
He said, next year’s version will have a new format that will be disclosed to aspirants and music fans in due course of time.
