Born and raised in Ghana Dee Versatile (*DeeVS*) also known as Derrick Abaitey established his musical interest in boarding school. By 2005, Dee relocated to the UK and strived for perfection, he started working on a solo project alongside the best urban producers in UK, whilst also recording and producing his own demos. Early 2006 he developed his production and vocal skills while working on his 1st album in “KingsBeat” studio.
During that time he formed an urban music group called “Vibe Squad” within 2 months of forming the group, they completed the album titled “Boo Yi”.
By 2009 “Vibe Squad” performed their 1st live show at UK “Ghana In The Park” with rave reviews. What followed was a succession of many headlining events that helped staple their name as the top Afrobeat group in UK.
In 2012 DeeVS decides to go solo to develop his many talents and abilities, being an artist all his life has allowed him to grow his confidence in himself as an entertainer. And within a short space of time, he soon found himself sharing centre stage with internationally celebrated artists like Nigeria's own 2face Idibia, and opening shows for breakthrough Nigerian artist like D’banj, NaetoC and Iketuwku.
Dee promises that his most anticipated single *SHINE; *to be on the 15th of November 2012 is a certified banger with catchy hooks and clean lyrics. A song that everyone can relate to about times we’ve had to work hard and stay positive to achieve the best. We all have our time to *SHINE*!
