Hiplife musician Deeba who was arrested in 2013 for allegedly defiling his 8 year old daughter in UK will be returning to Ghana this year, his manager Pastor Elvis has confirmed.

The manager is however disappointed in ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas who facilitated the arrest of Deeba, known in private life as Richard Nimo.

Pastor Elvis narrating how Deeba was arrested on Thursday in an interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong, host of Anigye mmre, an entertainment talk show on Onua 95.1 FM, said “Deeba has a younger brother called Fada Nimo, who was the official video editor for Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative documentaries”

“Anas called Fada Nimo one day and informed him about a music audition for already established music stars willing to revive their career, so he (Fada) should speak to his brother Deeba who had then returned from UK to come for the audition,” he recalled in the local language Twi.

Fada broke the good news to his brother Deeba and urged him to go for the audition since his close pal Anas was the one who gave him the hint, which Deeba heeded.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas disguised himself as one Queen Petra, seated as a female member on the auditioning panel. It was during the audition when police personnel from INTERPOL came in to arrest him (Deeba).

Pastor Elvis recounted that, what really hurt him was the drama surrounding the arrest of Deeba, claiming when Deeba returned from Uk, Fada took him to see Anas Aremeyaw Anas in Anas’ office. He said Anas therefore knew Deeba and if he wanted to lead the police to arrest Deeba, Anas could have done that easily without wearing wig, high heel shoes, with artificial breasts, buttocks and face mask with detailed makeup in other to arrest Deeba.

Pastor Elvis is at pain that Anas betrayed his friend Nimo, noting that even he, Pastor Elvis could have produced Deeba for the police with just two cedis in his hand.

“I can tell you Deeba was not charged for rape; during the trial it was revealed that Deeba never defiled his 8-year-old step daughter but he inserted a ginger into her anus, and it’s an African way of punishment,” Pastor Elvis added

He stated that Deeba has been released from jail and has been a free man for a couple of years now.

Deeba, he reiterated, will return to Ghana soon. He said the musician is currently pursuing some courses in UK, promising Ghanaians to watch out for the return of Deeba.

Deeba is known for his hit tracks like Deeba, Ahoofe Hemaa, Aben kwai among others
