The National Women’s Organizer of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and leader of the all-women’s group Dzesi has donated equipment comprising of a set of drums, guitars, steel pans and mouth organs to the Mother Care Orphanage in Swedru.
Making the presentation last Saturday, Della Hayes noted that she was moved to make the donation after being introduced to the Orphanage four months ago.
According to Della, she has been involved with the Orphanage since then, organizing music classes for the children and in appreciation of their skills and potential she decided to make the donation.
She indicated that the donation was possible with the help of some philanthropists who gave her the equipment to donate to the Orphanage.
The owner of the Orphanage Madam Joyce Obeng who is also the Queen mother of Swedru was full of appreciation for the donation and assured Della that she will ensure that the children optimize the opportunities presented by the donation of the equipment.
