Ghana’s finest award-winning jock, Dj Champagne is set to drop his first ever riddim album set soon.
His huge success with Ghana version of the 'Foam pary riddim mixtape', officially endorsed by the original Producer, Arketek (Dale Johnson), a Jamaican-American, that saw over 20,000 downloads and outdoor patronage in various clubs and pubs, DJ champagne has moved a step higher to step up the Dancehall & Reggae business in Ghana.
He has now come up with his own produced riddim with the 'Riddim boss' project called 'More Champagne Riddim'. Being his first riddim project, the celebrated Ghana jock has decided to name the riddim after himself to accentuate familiarity.
Dj Champagne is very optimistic his entry into the Dancehall and Reggae scene fully would help market the genre to higher heights as well as international standards.
He has already connected with some top rated Jamaican and African artistes who would be voicing on the riddim with some of Ghana’s finest acts. More like an African-Jamaican connection on the 'More Champagne Riddim'.
'More Champagne Riddim' is pitched around a BPM of about 110 thus makes is a very danceable riddim album that everyone can jam to any time and any day. DJ Champagne has also played on Ghana’s bubbling and most-alluring radio station, Y-FM 107.9 for 6 years before moving to work in South Africa. He now plays for Planet Radio TV in South Africa.
In the words of DJ Champagne, “I feel more honored and comfortable working with Dancehall and Reggae acts because the vibe is always good and can last generations.
I decide to add myself to this side of the entertainment industry more especially to help sell more of our Ghana and African acts to the global community. This is just the preceding project, and there are plans for more and more similar jobs from my outfit to benefit the genre.
I can’t wait for the entire riddim album to be ready. It looks very promising with some of the acts voicing on it already. With the involvement of Elorm Beenie, one of the key pushers of Dancehall & Reggae, we look forward to a very successful project.
I’ve been getting calls and requests from several people the first day I tweeted about, but I have been a bit reserved about who and who specifically are included in the More Champagne Riddim until the full album is ready.
"I believe in pulling surprises just like I did with the 'Foam Party Riddim Mixtape' which no Ghana jock has ever done before to receive such a huge patronage locally and internationally,” he said.
