Counsellor and lecturer at Valley View University, Pastor Ebenezer Quaye, has warned women against supporting their men to higher heights without building on themselves.
According to him, such women tend to be either abandoned or relegated to the background when their husbands actualize.
Answering a question on why some men separate from their spouses after they have dedicated years to ensure they are successful, Pastor Quaye explained that most men enter into a relationship with an objective, and once they achieve that, they either help their spouse upscale or abandon them for a lover who matches their new status.
“Men have two ways of thinking. There are those who go out with objectives, and there are those who go out with relationships, so if the man is the relationship type, then that person will hold on to the relationship despite their new status and help the woman come up.
“Then for those who go out with the objective, the objective is to realise something, and when they realise that objective, he will set a new objective and want a woman that will suit that purpose,” Pastor Quaye said on TV3’s Confession.
To avert such situations, he said, “Women, when you are supporting a man to grow, the best you can do for yourself is to build yourself up too. You have to grow, too. Do not support him to grow at your expense.”
