Hitz FM’s morning show host Okyeame Quophi has advised young musicians not to get into music groups.

Speaking to the producer of Yaw Sakyi’s Rundown show during an interview, Okyeame Quophi stated that, break up is imminent when one is in a group adding that with time individuals taste, ideals and ideas about life and the proffession could change and that could lead to break ups.

Okyeame also admitted that he was shocked by the break up of his group “Akyeame” stating that though he saw it coming, he never thought they would break up earlier than he expected. He however advised young artistes and groupies to learn as much as they can when they found theirselves in a group.

Before becoming a broadcaster, Okyeame Quophi whose real name Daniel Quophi Amoateng, was a member of the now defunct group “Akyeame” where together with his partner Okyeame Kwame churned out chart topping hits including “Masan Aba” which is widely considered as the first certified hiplife tune in Ghana.

Aside broadcasting, Okyeame Quophi also runs his own record label and music video production outfit EMKLAN ENTERTAINMENT alongside his wife, Stacy of Music Music fame.
