Radio presenter Philip Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, has expressed his dissatisfaction with how some individuals are mocking him after his nomination to contest as flagbearer for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) was rejected by the Electoral Commission.

In a video shared on social media, Roman Fada noted that Ghanaians should refrain from addressing him as honorable because it's disrespectful.

According to the journalist cum politician, the right title Ghanaians can address him by is His Excellency.

"Recently, I have realised that I have been speaking good English because I entered into politics... I don't want anyone to address me as an honorable because that title is for MPs and Assemblymen.

I have reached the level where you should address me as His Excellency because I have contested with Bawumia, Mahama, Alhansan Ayariga, and co. Because if you call me honorable, you have reduced my pose. And if you can't call me His Excellency, address me by my name," he said.

Background

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, at a news conference, rejected the nomination of Roman Fada as the party's presidential candidate.

The EC decided to exclude Roman Fada from running in the just-ended 2024 election because some anomalies in his nomination couldn't be ignored even though the party was allowed to address these discrepancies.
