A marriage counsellor, Maame Yeboaa Asiedu, has advised Ghanaian celebrities not to take their fame and glamour into their marital affairs.
According to her, the feeling of being a celebrity should always end with the fans and not in the marital home.
"Being a woman is natural. Having to cook, having to wash, do the dishes, clean the house and doing everything a woman should do is part of being a woman. The fact that you are a celebrity does not change you from being a woman.
If you are a celebrity, your celebrity ends with the fans because it was the fans that made you a celebrity. Your duty as husband or a wife starts when you go home. When you get home and yet you want to be a celebrity or a star in your home then it is a problem," she said in an interview with NEWS-ONE, adding that this is one of the major causes of celebrity divorce cases around the world.
"It's selfishness or self-centredness. If you are a celebrity and you think you are a celebrity so everything should be centred on you, your husband can take it for sometime but he wouldn't take it all the time.
It will get to a point where he would want a relationship that is not just to enjoy but to be understood so he can also have his peace of mind. If he does not have that peace of mind then how can he ever go forward," she added.
Maame Yeboah continued: "It is not about maintaining a relation¬ship or marriage, it is choosing right. When you choose the right partner, you don't have to struggle so much to maintain that relationship because you chose the person that understands you, the person that is God fearing and the person that loves you.
That's the most important thing. If you are a celebrity, choose somebody you love and not some-body you admire. That way you will be able to maintain that marriage till God comes," she added.
